Starting a blog is exciting, but one of the most overlooked steps is making sure your website is legally protected.
When I first discovered that every website needs at least three essential Legal Pages, I was completely caught off guard—I had no idea this could impact my Online Business!
Learning this made me pause and take action immediately. Without the right legal pages, you could be at risk for fines, FTC violations, or other legal trouble, even as a new blogger.
In this post, I’ll break down the three Legal Pages every website must have, share how I quickly got mine set up, and show you simple ways to protect your website without spending a fortune. By the end, you’ll have the knowledge to make your blog safe, compliant, and ready for growth.
Want to make your blog legal the easy way? I used these customizable legal templates to get everything set up quickly, without hiring a lawyer.

What Are The Three Legal Pages Needed On Your Website?

This page may contain affiliate links, which means I will receive a commission if you purchase through my links, at no extra cost to you. Please read full disclosure for more information. As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.
At a minimum, every blogger must have the following three Legal Pages on their website:
- Privacy Policy
- Disclaimer
- Terms And Conditions (aka, Terms of Service or TOS, Terms of Use)
Where Is The Best Place To Get Legal Pages?
If you want a quick, reliable option, these templates are what I personally used and recommend:
Amira Irfan is a lawyer who created these templates, making it easy for new bloggers to customize and upload the necessary Legal Pages to their website.
In addition to being a lawyer, Amira is also a 7-figure blogger, so she knows what she’s talking about all the way around.
Amira has created thorough, professional, and easily-customizable templates, so you can get these Legal Pages up on your website quickly.
Even better, whenever laws change, Amira updates the Legal Templates and notifies you of the changes, to ensure that your website and business are always protected.
Templates make it so easy to create Legal Pages for your website!
If you choose to hire your own attorney to create these Legal Pages for your website, it will likely require a lot more of your time and money.
Legal Template Bundles
Fortunately, to help new bloggers, Amira has created the following affordable Legal Template Bundles, for you to purchase and use on your website.
Starter Legal Bundle
The Starter Legal Bundle includes templates for the pages described below:
Privacy Policy
The Privacy Policy page informs your website visitors how you collect and use their personal information, and will help you avoid FTC audits and fines. This Privacy Policy is CCPA & GDPR compliant.
Disclaimer
The Disclaimer page clearly explains that your content is for informational purposes only, and will limit your liability for the content on your website. If someone relies on the information that you publish, and suffers a negative outcome, this template has legal disclaimers to protect you. It also has built-in affiliate disclosures to keep you compliant with FTC guidelines.
Terms And Conditions
The Terms And Conditions page includes your website rules, protects your intellectual property rights and prevents copyright infringement. It helps you to exercise your right to terminate readers at your discretion, outline your refund/exchange policies, and specifies where and how disputes will be resolved.
Premium Legal Bundle
Some bloggers need more templates for their Online Business. The Premium Legal Bundle includes the templates as described above, plus the following templates:
- Sponsored Posts Contract
- Independent Contractor
- Guest Blogger Agreement
VIP Legal Bundle
For my Online Business, I decided to step up and purchase the VIP Legal Bundle so that I’d have templates for future business expansion.
The VIP Legal Bundle includes all the templates in the Premium Legal Bundle, plus the following templates that you may find useful for your Online Business:
- Confidentiality Agreement
- Design Service Agreement
- Affiliate Agreement
- LLC Operating Agreement
- Media Release Agreement
- Sweepstakes (Giveaway) Terms & Conditions
- Coaching Agreement
- Consulting Agreement
- Website Sale Agreement
- Partnership Agreement
- Plus 16 Bonuses!
Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA)
Aside from the templates outlined above, there’s one more area of concern for your website, and that is the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA).
To avoid accessibility lawsuits from people with disabilities, Amira also offers the ADA & WCAG Compliance Bundle, which I purchased and added to my website.
This bundle includes the ADA Guide (everything you need to know), ADA & WCAG Checklist, Website Accessibility Statement Template and Plugins for your website.
When Should You Purchase Your Legal Templates?
I strongly recommend that you get the Legal Pages on your website before launching your blog, so that you are protected from the get-go.
By purchasing these Legal Templates and customizing them for your website, you’ll have the confidence and peace of mind to move forward with creating and developing your Online Business.
For more template descriptions for the Starter Legal Bundle, Premium Legal Bundle, and VIP Legal Bundle, visit Amira’s website, aselfguru.com.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Beware of free templates that you may find online—they are missing important information, thereby leaving your Online Business unprotected and susceptible to lawsuits.
TIP: When you purchase your Legal Templates, you may be offered access to all future Legal Templates for a small add-on fee. Take advantage of this offer—I wish I would have! Amira has created several new templates since I purchased my bundle, and unfortunately I have to pay for each of them.
After purchasing your Legal Bundle and getting the pages up on your website, I just know that you’ll breathe an immediate sigh of relief as you check this off your list of very important To Do’s! I sure did!
Also, you should join Amira’s FREE Facebook Group: ASelfGuru – Biz Blog Community, where you’ll get continued trusted support on legal issues and blogging, in general.
Other Legal
When you start your online business, by default you’re classified as a Sole Proprietor, but there are other options. You may want to consult a lawyer to help you decide which is best for you.
I formed an LLC (Limited Liability Company) for my business so that, in case of legal action (by readers or brands), my personal assets will be kept separate from my business assets.
I hired Northwest Registered Agent to form my LLC. If this is the business entity that you want to set up, I highly recommend them! You can read more about why I hired them, and for which services, in The Guide (see below).
As an alternative (which I didn’t know about until after I had already set mine up), Amira can also help you form your LLC, so you may want to check out both resources. If you’re not ready to form an LLC yet, don’t worry—most new bloggers start as sole proprietors. Right now, the most important step is making sure your website is protected with the proper legal pages.
The Guide
If you haven’t yet, download the FREE ONLINE BUSINESS Checklist to learn all the steps, and to help you stay on track while starting your blog. And if you’re ready to learn even more details, check out The Guide.
